Playing with Systems: TIC-Tac-Toe
An iconic grid of black and white, the unchanging lines of hopscotch; an immediate impulse from a cry of tag and things assumed from things unsaid. Our actions are confined from presumed possibility spaces, our imagination determined by our assumptions. This rehashed version of tic-tac-toe is a basic instructional activity that teacher’s can use to introduce the idea of systems thinking. It is part of my on-going research in utilizing games to teach children to think methodically within and between various systems.

harry-potter themed 2d escape game concept
Hogwarts-esque, two-dimensional rooms for a digital “escape-room” type game. These sketches are consolidations and adjustments of various image assets scraped throughout the web. Players would traverse the rooms, find clues, and solve puzzles to unlock the large wooden door (first room, most left) to complete the game.
hados
The Hyper Automated Disk Operating System (HaDOS) is a text-based adventure game taking place in the far reaches of the known universe. The game was inspired by Portal’s own rogue artificial intelligence: GlaDOS. Aside from puzzles, linear algebra, and off-beat pop-culture references, the game features an email-sending feature which aims to blur the seams between digital games and reality.
